What a speed test actually measures
A speed test measures the connection between your device and a test server at that moment. It is not a permanent certificate of your package speed. In Pakistan, results can change because of Wi-Fi signal quality, local exchange congestion, mobile tower load, submarine cable issues, or the server location selected by the test app.
The three numbers that matter
Download speed affects streaming, browsing, app updates, and file downloads. Upload speed matters for video calls, cloud backups, online classes, and sending large files. Ping measures delay; lower ping usually feels better for calls, gaming, and remote work.
How to test properly
Test once on Wi-Fi and once near the router. If possible, test with an Ethernet cable as well. Close heavy downloads, pause cloud sync, and run tests at different times of day. If mobile data is slow, compare indoor and outdoor results because building materials can weaken signal.
When to contact your provider
Contact support when wired results are consistently far below the package speed, ping is unusually high across multiple services, or the connection drops frequently. Keep screenshots with date, time, package name, and location details so the complaint is easier to investigate.
