How to Prevent Frozen Pipes, and How to Thaw Them Safely
Keep the heating on, let cold taps drip on freezing nights and insulate exposed pipes. If a pipe freezes, open the tap and warm it gently with a hair dryer, working from the tap back towards the frozen section. Never use a flame.
