How to Keep a Real Christmas Tree Alive and Fresh for Longer
Buy a fresh tree, cut about an inch off the trunk just before it goes in the stand, and never let the water drop below the cut. Plain tap water works best. Keep the tree away from heat, and it should stay fresh for about four to five weeks.
